BROOKLYN HEIGHTS, NY. - The St. Francis Brooklyn women's water polo team played a trio of matches this past weekend.
Although the Terriers (6-17, 2-9 MAAC) dropped the first two matches, they finished on a good note with a win over VMI on Senior Day.
St. Francis Brooklyn 8 | Villanova 13
The Terriers began the weekend traveling to Pennsylvania for a rematch with Villanova. Their strongest quarter was the third, where they outscored the Wildcats 5-1.
Sydney Devroedt converted five of her six shot attempts on the afternoon, while Olivia Gallego Saez saw most of the action in goal with a total of eight saves.

The Terriers made a quick turnaround to play La Salle the same night. This time the third quarter was their best, which they won 4-1.
Devroedt was once again the leading scorer with six, and she was supported by Anja Miskovic who found the net on four occasions.

The final match of the weekend was a morning start where the Terriers returned home and honored senior Kirra Hemric.
Three minutes into the contest, Devroedt was on target to make it 2-0 SFBK. Moments later, the Hollywood, Florida native fired into the top corner, prompting a timeout from VMI.
Anja Miskovic got her name onto the scoresheet with the first attempt of the second quarter, putting the Terriers up 7-2. With 3:54 to go in the quarter VMI cut into the Terriers' lead, and Coach Duretic called time with the score 8-4.
In the waning seconds of the half, goalkeeper Gallego Saez denied VMI player Maddie Berry to maintain a three point margin.
At the start of the third quarter VMI's Genevieve Petrassi made an interception, pushed the other way and fired home to make it 9-7, and SFBK called time. Olga Antoniadi restored the three point cushion with a powerful throw after several pump fakes. Shortly after, Tate Renata added to the lead, and VMI needed time.
Just before the clock ran out in the third, Erin Breakey dished to Emma Leto who found the net from long range.
One minute into the final period MK McKendry found Devroedt on a counter attack opportunity, which she converted, opening up a five point lead for the home team. The Terriers widened their lead and came away with a seven point victory.
