Terriers Wrap Up Tiger Invitational on Saturday

PRINCETON, NJ – The St. Francis Brooklyn women's water polo team wrapped up the Tiger Invitational on Saturday, when it played two games. The Terriers fell to George Washington in the morning and were topped by Princeton later in the day.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
St. Francis Brooklyn – 10 | George Washington – 13
  • The game started with the Colonials scoring the first goal. The Terriers were quick to retaliate as Kelsey Snelgar scored their first goal to tie the game up.
  • After much back in fourth in the first period, the score was tied at 4-4, with Snelgar scoring three, and Nicole Herrick adding the remaining tally.
  • Erin Gonzalez scored the lone goal for the Terriers in the second, and the Colonials were up by one at the halftime, 6-5.
  • For the remainder of the game, the Terriers fought from behind but were unable to come out on top. Snelgar added another three goals (for a total of six), Erin Gonzalez added her second (for a total of two). Julie Olivares and Nicole Herrick both rattled the cage once for a total of 10 goals for the Terriers. The Colonials found the back to the net 13 times.
St. Francis Brooklyn – 6 | Princeton – 14
  • The Terriers were ultimately overwhelmed by falling to Princeton by the final score of 14-6.
  • In the very first period, the Terriers rattled the opponent's cage two times, thanks to Kirra Hemric and Sara Monckton, respectively. The period ended in the Tigers' favor at 6-2.
  • In the third period that the Terriers, much like in the previous game of the day, fell behind. Princeton outscored St. Francis, 5-0, in the third.
  • Kelsey Snelgar and Erin Breakey scored two goals each. Hemric and Monckton contributed the remaining tallies. Snelgar drew four exclusions and registered two steals and an assist. Olivares and Monckton also recorded assists in the game. 
UP NEXT:
The Terriers compete in the Marist Invitational in Poughkeepsie, NY. The Invitational is set to begin on Saturday, February 23 and will conclude on Sunday, February 24.
