PHILADELPHIA, Penn. - The St. Francis Brooklyn women's water polo team closed out the La Salle Invite with a split of its two games on Sunday. That brought the team's final record for the tournament to 2-2.
St. Francis Brooklyn 14 | Mercyhurst 8
Despite an early 8:30 a.m. start the Terriers showed no signs of sluggishness, grabbing a big lead with a 10-3 first quarter. The second period was scoreless for both teams, and the early advantage proved to be enough, with the final margin of victory for SFBK settling at six.
With four goals, Sydney Devroedt was the team's top scorer once again, while Hanna Kruppi chipped in three of her own. Mia Leto also had a solid performance in all facets of the game, finishing with two goals, three assists and three steals.
In goal, MK McKendry and Elsah Nijdam combined for three saves and four steals.

Playing Salem for the second straight day, St. Francis played a competitive first quarter that ended in just a one point deficit. However, the Terriers only managed to score three times over the next three periods, and the Tigers lead swelled into the double digits by the fourth quarter.
Sydney Devroedt led the Terriers in scoring with two goals, and goalkeeper Elsah Nijdam denied the Tigers for four stops.
