VILLANOVA, PA - St. Francis Brooklyn women's water polo wrapped up its weekend against LaSalle on Saturday afternoon, falling to the Explorers by a score of 13-4. The Terriers offense stumbled, scoring just one goal by the break and dropped to 1-1 against LaSalle on the year.
The defense relinquished five goals in the opening quarter and the offense was unable to get on the board.The second quarter story remained the same until
Anja Miskovic got the Terriers on the board. The defense was stout in the second quarter, only giving up three goals, but the team trailed 8-1 at the break.
St. Francis Brooklyn scored three of the first four goals of the second half as the deficit was cut to 9-4 at the 5:54 mark in the fourth quarter. The defenses both held tough and it was enough for the Explorers to win the contest. They scored four straight goals to end the game and the Terriers fell 13-4.
MK McKendry made eight saves in goal to lead the defensive unit.
The Terriers will continue action in New Rochelle next weekend. They will take on Marist, Iona and Siena to close out the regular season. Action against the Red Foxes begins on Saturday at 2 p.m.
