Inbar Geva Tabbed MAAC Defensive Player of the Week

EDISON, NJ – St. Francis College Brooklyn freshman goalie Inbar Geva was tabbed the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Defensive Player of the Week as announced by the league office on Wednesday. Geva is the first Terrier to take home the MAAC Defensive Player of the Week award since Morgan Allison did so in February of 2016.

Geva started in two games for the Terriers and picked up her first career win on Sunday morning against La Salle. For the week she went 1-1 in net. The freshman recorded 17 saves and notched a save percentage of .472. She registered nine saves in her debut on Saturday against Salem. On Sunday, she anchored the Terriers' defense as she made eight saves en route to a 9-8 win over fellow MAAC member La Salle.

Prior to the start of the 2020 season, Geva, a goalie from Israel, played for the Israeli senior National Team at the European Championship. The championship was held in Budapest and Geva's native team of Israel finished in ninth-place.

The Terriers are back in the pool this weekend for four games at the Bucknell Invitational in Lewisburg, PA. On Saturday, February 8, St. Francis is in action for a pair of contests. The Terriers take on Wagner in a MAAC match at 9 a.m., followed by a meeting with Bucknell at 3:15 p.m.

On Sunday, February 9, St. Francis goes head-to-head with Harvard at 9:15 a.m., and then it faces Gannon at 6 p.m.
