SMITHFIELD, RI – The St. Francis Brooklyn women's volleyball team (10-18, 6-8 NEC) wrapped up its 2018 season on a high note with a big-time win over Bryant (20-12, 10-4 NEC) in four sets.
The Terriers have recorded their first double-digit win total in a season since 2010 when they also recorded 10 victories. The 10-18 mark is their best overall record since they went 11-15 in 2001. St. Francis Brooklyn sent its seniors off with a memorable win on the final day of the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
St. Francis Brooklyn – 3 | Bryant – 1 (27-25, 13-25, 25-20, 25-22)
- Freshman Una Stevic paced the Terriers from the outside as she totaled a team-high 11 kills. She notched 12.5 points and four digs in the win.
- Sophomore Vanja Miljacic registered a near double-double with 10 kills and nine digs. She hit .242 and added 12.5 points.
- Junior Lauren Montgomery had a solid day with nine kills and 11.5 points, while junior middle blocker Taris Pittman totaled eight kills, a career-high seven blocks, and 12.5 points.
- Junior middle blocker Wies Hurkmans had six kills and three digs.
- Senior setter Nina Tiedt handed out 29 assists. Freshman libero Kizzy Rodriguez totaled 20 digs. It was the seventh time this season that she registered 20 or more digs in a match.
