Women’s Volleyball Drops Rowdy Rivalry Battle with LIU

BROOKLYN, NY - In front of a fiesty crowd at the Steinberg Wellness Center, the St. Francis Brooklyn women's volleyball team traveled with the Terrier faithful across Flatbush Ave. to face rival LIU.

The traveling contingent rallied on the Terriers, but the Sharks were too much to handle, winning 3-0

QUICK HITS

After the dropping the first set 16-25, St. Francis found a hot start in the second set. Camelia Meléndez scored her first kill of the set as the Terriers opened with a 4-0 lead.

The Terriers attack had its best set of the day; matching LIU with 12 kills in the second. Cristal Paulino got the visitors across the halfway mark first with a kill for the 13-11 lead.

St. Francis was unable to keep pace with the efficiency of the Sharks' offense as they dropped the second set, 20-25.

Selina Koc recorded her third straight match with at least 20 assists, adding 23 on Friday night. She led all players in that category.

Meléndez led the Terriers with 9 kills, adding 5 kills and one assist.
