BROOKLYN HEIGHTS, NY – The St. Francis College Brooklyn women's volleyball team (9-13, 3-5 NEC) was edged by Robert Morris (19-3, 9-0 NEC) in straight sets on Saturday at the Genovesi Center. The Terriers celebrated women's volleyball Alumni Day with a celebration on campus prior to the match.
Despite falling to the Colonials, St. Francis put up a strong fight throughout the contest. Robert Morris took the opening set, 25-21, and then had to rally to pick up a victory in the second set, 25-22. The Colonials clinched the match with a 25-20 win in the third and what would be final set.
HOW IT HAPPENED:

- Senior outside hitter Lauren Montgomery recorded her second double-double of the season with a team-high 12 kills and 13 digs in the match. Montgomery accounted for a team-best 12.5 points as she tallied double-digits in kills for the second match in a row. It was the fourth time this season that the senior registered 10 or more kills in a contest this season.
- Junior Ally Speweik hit .333 and totaled nine kills for the Terriers. Speweik has hit .300 or better in 11 out of her last 14 matches played and has boosted her hitting percentage to .328 on the season.
- Sophomore libero Kizzy Rodriguez recorded a team-high 16 digs over three sets. It was the ninth consecutive match that Rodriguez totaled 10 or more digs.
- Senior co-captains Taris Pittman and Wies Hurkmans had strong matches from the middle for the Terriers. Pittman finished with 7.5 points, six kills, three blocks, and notched a hitting percentage of .353. Hurkmans recorded a team-high .545 hitting percentage, six kills, and two blocks.
- Sophomore setter Angelee Ng dished out a team-high 31 assists and tallied 13 digs. It was the 10th time this season that the sophomore handed our 30 or more assists in a match and the seventh time this season that she finished a match with 30-plus assists and 10-plus digs.
- Junior defensive specialist Genesis Soto finished the match with a season-high 14 digs.
