WEST WINDSOR, N.J. - After securing its highest seeding in over a decade off the back of two wins in its last three regular season matches, the No. 5 St. Francis Brooklyn women's tennis team fell to No. 4 Bryant 4-0 in the opening round of the Northeast Conference Tournament.
In a match that pitted the fourth seeded Bulldogs against the fifth seeded Terriers, Bryant was off to a strong start in the doubles matches. The Bulldogs took both doubles matches 6-2 against the SFBK teams of Yeva Baziv/Margherita Fiorio and Angelica Karlsson Hantzis/Lincy Valencia.
The Bulldogs carried their momentum into the singles competition, taking wins at the one, three and six spot. Two Terriers, Valencia and Karlsson Hantzis, won sets from their opponents, but both matches were ended early after Bryant clinched the victory.
The Terriers close the season out with a 3-12 overall record, with a 2-4 NEC standing.
