FAIRFIELD, CT– The St. Francis Brooklyn women's tennis team (3-11, 0-5) fell to the Stags of Fairfield University (11-6, 4-0) on Sunday afternoon from the WAC Outdoor Courts. The Terriers obtained their first victory of the spring season a day ago against Monmouth on their home court, but could not hold serve against their second opponent of Saturday, Delaware State Hornets. St. Francis is now on a two-game skid. The Stags have taken four straight matches dating back to April 2 against Monmouth also.
The Terriers obtained a pair of points with Sandra Siles-Polo and
Martina Radinovic securing points in the fifth and sixth singles match pairings. Both St. Francis student athletes would battle their respective opponent and be victorious by a score of 8-1. The third doubles pairing of
Sheila Cetina and
Martina Radinovic battled but could not hold up against their opposition as they fell 7-5 in the one set thriller.
