QUEENS, N.Y. - Back on friendly confines, the St. Francis Brooklyn women's tennis team returned to action at the USTA National Tennis Center with a contest against St. John's.
The Terriers dropped the match against the Red Storm, 7-0.
In doubles action, the high mark for St. Francis was its second team.
Julia Varvarigos and Angelica Karlsson Hantzis won three games against SJU's Mouna Bouzgarrou and Emilie Haakansson. Bouzgarrou and Haakansson went on to win 6-3.
Hantzis and Bouzgarrou battled again as the top singles. The Terriers number one, Hantzis, showed fight; but ultimately falling 6-3, 6-4.
NEXT UP: St. Francis faces a home-and-away doubleheader on Sunday, Feb. 13. The Terriers open the day in the Bronx against Fordham at 3:00 p.m., then travels to the Cunningham Park Tennis Center for the team's first home match, against Lafayette at 7:00 p.m.
