BROOKLYN HEIGHTS, NY - The St. Francis Brooklyn women's soccer team returned to Brooklyn Bridge Park for the first time since the start of Northeast Conference (NEC) play, taking on Central Connecticut State (CCSU).
For the second consecutive season, the Terriers held the Blue Devils scoreless in the first half but fell to CCSU, 1-0.
Terriers goalkeeper Klil Keshwar was called into action for just one save in the match; stopping CCSU's Roma McLaughlin shot just under the cross bar in the 39th minute.
Despite Lauren Taylor challenging the Blue Devils' keeper, Caitlin Murphy, in the 31st minute, the two conference foes went to halftime scoreless for the second straight meeting.
The scoreline changed in the 60th minutes. CCSU's Kristina Kelly went down towards the top of the 18-yard box, with Angelina Briggs called for the foul that sent Kelly to the penalty spot. Kelly converted the goal, out of the reach of Keshwar to the bottom left corner, to take the lead 1-0.
St. Francis logged three shots in the final 30 minutes but was unable to find the equalizer.
NEXT UP: The Terriers head across the Verrazano Bridge on Sunday to face Staten Island rival Wagner at 1:00 p.m. The match will stream live on NEC Front Row.
