Terriers Earn Clean Sheet in 2021 Season Opener at Saint Peter’s

JERSEY CITY, NJ– The St. Francis College Brooklyn women's soccer team (1-0-0) opened the 2021 season with a one nil clean sheet over the Peacocks of Saint Peter's University (0-1-0) at Joseph Jaroschak Field on Thursday afternoon.
 
The Terriers have now opened the 2021 abbreviated season, and the 2021 fall campaign with victories. St. Francis Brooklyn also earned its second clean sheet in program history.
 
In the 60' minute of play, a turnover in the box by the Peacocks' keeper gave senior midfielder Barbara Zagonyi a wide-open net, that allowed the lone goal of the contest.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Junior goalkeeper Klil Keshwar recorded her first clean-sheet shutout victory in a full 90 minutes on the pitch. The Trinidad and Tobago native earned one save, and faced a trio of shots in the match.
  • Senior midfielder Barbara Zagonyi tallied the team's lone and game-winning goal in the 60' minute of action. The Hungarian native registered a total of 61 minutes on the pitch.
  • Senior forward Sarah DeWitt registered a pair of shots with one on net, in 89 minutes of play.
  • Senior defender Brianna Van Giesen recorded one shot on goal in 64 minutes on the pitch.
  • Junior midfielder McKayla Palhof added a pair of shots off the bench in her 2021 season debut in 47 minutes.
  • Senior forward Lauren Schultz tallied one shot in 40 minutes off the bench.
UP NEXT: St. Francis Brooklyn continues its season on Sunday, August 22, when the Terriers visit the Hawks of Hartford University for a noon matinee. The contest will be the second MAAC opponent the Terriers are facing in as many games this 2021 season.
