ST. BONAVENTURE, NY - The St. Francis Brooklyn women's soccer team capped off a pair of Empire State road games on Sunday afternoon, taking on St. Bonaventure for the first time in program history.
The Terriers scored back-to-back goals to take a 2-1 lead in the second half, but were forced to settle for a 2-2 draw to end the week.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Both teams played scoreless for the first 40 minutes of action. In the 41st minute, the Bonnies got in behind the St. Francis back line as Isabella Jeppesen set up Ami Komori for the first goal of the game and a 1-0 lead.
The game looked to be heading to a 1-0 halftime score when the Terriers earned a corner in the final minute of the first half. Jess Rodriguez served up a ball right to Alina Graf, who scored her first goal of the season to tied the game at 1-1. Ten minutes in to the second half, the Terriers struck again as Margaret Motolese played a great ball to Lauren Taylor, who scored her first of the year. St. Francis led 2-1.
That score held for around 20 minutes until Chanel Alexander chipped Klil Keshwar from outside the box and the ball rolled across the line for a 2-2 score.
The draw held through the 90th minute as the Terriers recorded their second draw of the season.
