The St. Francis Brooklyn Women's Soccer team (3-3-4) finished their non-conference competitions for the year with a thrilling overtime win over the NJIT Highlanders (2-8-0).
St. Francis is familiar with games going over the 90' mark. Wednesday evenings match marked their 5th overtime game this season; but marked their first win in overtime this year. The previous 4 overtime matches all ended in draws.
The first 20' of the contest saw the Terriers and Highlanders exchange an array of shots on net, with the Terriers nearly marking the scoreboard first when a shot from Junior
Hailey Russell hit the top of the woodwork.
The contest proved to be a physical one between both sides and with 3 fouls in nearly 4' minutes of consecutive play Senior
Mia Rose Daly was the first player to enter the books with a yellow card.
The first half ended with the Highlanders recording 7 shots to the Terriers 5.
The second half saw a change in the lineup for both NJIT and the Terriers. Junior Defender
Isabelle Gollette marked the box score with the first shot of the second half for either squad in the 53', and 45' later would mark the final shot of the contest.
NJIT saw their first yellow card when Sydney Watson was booked in the 72'. The Terriers saw 2 more yellow cards distributed to
Trystan Thompson-Cotterell and
Avery Gonzalez 30 seconds later.
A plethora of substitutions were seen for both NJIT and St. Francis throughout the second half and regulation ended with a shot from
Hailey Russell of the Terriers which was saved by Molly Saylor in net for the Highlanders.
The Terriers only needed 8' in overtime to seal the victory when
Isabelle Gollette took a free kick from nearly 40 yards out which bounced once in the box before finding the back of the net.
Klil Keshwar led the Terriers in goal throughout the contest and Junior
Hannah Russell recorded 2 shots on goal through 99' of play.

Lauren Schultz both tallying 2 shots on net.
With the victory, the Terriers finish their non-conference schedule and look to get back to Northeast Conference play for the remainder of the season.
The Terriers currently sit atop of the NEC standings in first place with 4 points.
