BROOKLYN HEIGHTS, NY– The St. Francis Brooklyn women's soccer team (0-3-0, 0-0-0) fell to the Bearcats of Binghamton University (2-1-0, 0-0-0) by a score of 2-0 on Friday afternoon from Brooklyn Bridge Park.
In the second home match of their inaugural season as a program, the Terriers were attacked early and stood tall. Three saves by Maggie Boston in the first half kept her team in the contest throughout the first 45 minutes of play.
The second half featured a penalty kick goal from Binghamton's Dora Hayes. The following goal came just 59 seconds after the first. St. Francis College Brooklyn recorded their two lone shots of the contest in the second half of play.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
· Midfielder Henriette Lykke had one shot on goal, that was saved by the opposing goalkeeper.
· Junior defender Carlotta Engel made her Terrier debut this afternoon, by logging 21 minutes on the pitch.
· Defender Brianna Van Giesen has not seen any time on the bench, as she has played in every minute of every contest. The sophomore logged another 90 minutes of action this afternoon.
· Freshman forward Yawara MacNeill logged 80 minutes of action in her third contest as a collegiate student-athlete.
· Sophomore goalkeeper Maggie Boston saved six shots in 90 minutes of action.
· Freshman midfielder Karen Pineda logged 43 minutes and would register one shot.
