MOUNT JOY, PA - The St. Francis Brooklyn women's bowling team's first weekend of competition at Clearview Lanes in Mount Joy, Pennsylvania wrapped up on Sunday. The Terriers were matched up in their daily set of Northeast Conference matches against the Duquesne University Dukes, who prevailed in the first two match formats, before St. Francis won the final match of the weekend.

Lexis Ortiz rolled the highest game of the weekend by a Terrier, turning in a clean game and stringing five strikes beginning in the fifth frame, to finish with a sparkling 239 score. Junior
Taylor Waglione opened only one time and scored 199, and senior
Kimmi D'Ottavio rolled a 180 for the Terriers. Duquesne outscored St. Francis by 51 pins.
Baker (Five Game) Total Pinfall: Duquesne University 1,003, St. Francis Brooklyn 912
For the third straight day, the Terriers were victimized by an opponent cracking the 1,000 mark in the five game total pinfall Baker match, as Duquesne prevailed by 91 total pins. The Terriers' top game of the match was a 211, which came in the fourth game, and included only one open frame. St. Francis also had only one open frame in the second game, which they finished with a 191 score. Waglione was clean in all 10 of her frames, and D'Ottavio filled nine of ten.
Baker Best of Seven Match: St. Francis Brooklyn 4, Duquesne University 2
St. Francis dropped the first game in the best of seven encounter by a 235-171 count, but responded immediately with a pair of wins, 234-213 and 255-238 (clean Terriers game). The Terriers then rolled a 223 score in game four, but fell to the Dukes' 279. The scoring pace of the match changed quickly after that, and the Terriers wrapped up the win by taking two straight games, by scores of 199-170 and 161-156. Ortiz and Waglione each filled 11 of 12 frames. D'Ottavio filled 10 of 12 frames, and her tenth frame turkey in game two was crucial as St. Francis sealed their 21-pin decision by closing with five strikes in succession.

The season will resume next weekend, as the Terriers will travel to Bowlero Carolier in North Brunswick, New Jersey for three more Northeast Conference match days, beginning with a showdown against the conference's newest bowling member, Wagner College, on Friday.
