MOUNT JOY, PA - The St. Francis Brooklyn women's bowling team season continued on Saturday at Clearview Lanes in Mount Joy, Pennsylvania. The Terriers were matched up in their daily set of Northeast Conference matches against the Sacred Heart University Pioneers, who prevailed in all three match formats.
Five Player Team Game: Sacred Heart University 936, St. Francis Brooklyn 898
Junior
Heather Waters led the Terriers with a 210 game, rolling three doubles during the match and having only one open frame. Senior
Lexis Ortiz was the next highest score for St. Francis with a 180. The match was close throughout, with the Pioneers coming away with the win by 38 pins.
Baker (Five Game) Total Pinfall: Sacred Heart University 1,118, St. Francis Brooklyn 960
St. Francis dropped the first of five Baker games by a 192-188 count, before Sacred Heart eclipsed the 250 level in the next two games, enabling them to pull away and win the match. Waters and classmate
Taylor Waglione each rolled clean matches, filling all ten of their frames. Freshman
Mikayla Ferrara entered as a substitute at the start of game four, rolling three strikes and a spare in her four frames. The Terriers closed the match with a clean 213 game.
Baker Best of Seven Match: Sacred Heart University 4, St. Francis Brooklyn 2
After dropping the first game of the best of seven encounter, 237-196, St. Francis rebounded to win consecutive games by scores of 197-185 and 224-200. However, Sacred Heart was able to outscore the Terriers in the rest of the games, despite solid 190 and 185 scores by St. Francis in games four and five. Senior
Kimmi D'Ottavio filled 11 of her 12 frames to earn the status as the top Terrier performer in the match.
