YORK, PA - The St. Francis Brooklyn women's bowling team returned to Northeast Conference action on Saturday at Colony Park North Lanes in York, Pennsylvania, and improved their position in the standings with two victories in three matches. The Terriers began the day by avenging a pair of losses from the first conference weekend.
St. Francis Brooklyn 973, Saint Francis University 866
Junior
Victoria Doto began her day with five consecutive strikes, and finished the match with a 217 score, to lead the Terriers to the victory over the Red Flash. The win was a total team effort, as senior
Taylor Smith rolled a 196, junior
Lexis Ortiz overcame a pair of early splits to finish with a 194, sophomore
Taylor Waglione posted a 192, and junior
Kimmi D'Ottavio rounded it out with a 174. As a team, St. Francis filled 43 of the 50 frames during the match.
St. Francis Brooklyn 1,006, Mount St. Mary's University 949
Four Terriers topped the 200 mark in the day's second win against the Mount. D'Ottavio led the way with a 234, featuring a pair of four-strike runs, Doto converted two splits on her way to a clean 224, Waglione posted a strong 209 game, and Smith rolled a clean 206.
Duquesne University 916, St. Francis Brooklyn 818
Both teams had early difficulty with the conditions on the day's final pair of lanes, but the Dukes were able to find the line sooner, resulting in their 98-pin victory. Smith closed out an outstanding day with a 189 game, and D'Ottavio contributed a 183.
