Terrier Bowlers Wrap Up Second Week of Action

NORTH BRUNSWICK, NJ - The St. Francis Brooklyn women's bowling team completed their second weekend of Northeast Conference competition on Sunday at Bowlero Carolier in North Brunswick, New Jersey, taking on the league-leading Fairleigh Dickinson University Knights.  The Terriers dropped all three match formats to the Knights, despite pushing Fairleigh Dickinson to the limit in the two Baker format matches.

Five Player Team Game: Fairleigh Dickinson University 1,012, St. Francis Brooklyn 891
Junior Heather Waters led St. Francis with a clean 204 game, her second straight time over the 200 mark, and senior Victoria Doto added a 192, thanks to a midgame string of four strikes, but the Terriers fell to the Knights by 121 pins.

Baker (Five Game) Total Pinfall: Fairleigh Dickinson University 1,026, St. Francis Brooklyn 976
A slow beginning put the Terriers in a 55 pin hole after two games, and despite three solid games to round out the match, highlighted by a clean 239 in game number three, and another clean game (198) in the final game, the Knights' lead was not threatened. Waters continued her exceptional Sunday bowling with a clean match, filling all ten of her frames.  Seniors Lexis Ortiz and Kimmi D'Ottavio, along with junior Taylor Waglione, each filled nine of ten frames.

Baker Best of Seven Match: Fairleigh Dickinson University 4, St. Francis Brooklyn 3
With a pair of clean game efforts, the Terriers won the first two games, 194-190 and 223-203, before the Knights responded with a pair of wins to knot the match.  St. Francis prevailed by five pins (197-192) in game five, but the Knights turned the match in their favor by winning game six, 198-186 and game seven, 201-190.  Waglione and D'Ottavio were strong at the bottom of the lineup, as each filled 13 of a possible 14 frames.  Freshman Mikayla Ferrara wasn't far behind them, filling 12 of her 14 frames.
