The St. Francis Brooklyn women's bowling team captured four of their five team matches on Saturday, day two of the Monmouth University Hawk Flight Invite, contested at King Pin Lanes in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey. Among the victories was a win over perennial NCAA Championships participant Sam Houston State University.

The Terriers began the day with a convincing victory over a Northeast Conference rival, the Caldwell Cougars. Freshman Kimmi D'Ottavio's 223 game led the way for St. Francis, while senior Emma Catone added a 199 and sophomore Taylor Smith rolled a 195. D'Ottavio rolled six consecutive strikes from frames four through nine, leading to her stellar final score.

Catone overcame a first frame open, and matched her first game score with a 199, while classmate Megan Kuehne rolled a 187, to lead the Terriers to win number two on the day, this one against the Penguins of Youngstown State.

A midgame string of five strikes by freshman Lexis Ortiz enabled her to roll a team-leading 203, and Catone added a 197, lifting the Terriers to a runaway win over Coppin State in the day's middle match. Kuehne filled nine of ten frames and finished with a 177 score.
St. Francis 845, Sam Houston State University 830
The Terriers had a double-barrel 200 game, with Catone firing a clean 215 and D'Ottavio adding a 204, lifting St. Francis to a 15 pin win over the Bearkats. Both bowlers rolled turkeys, with Catone's starting in frame seven, and D'Ottavio's coming in frames three through five.
Vanderbilt University 888, St. Francis 777
The Terriers' bid for a 5-0 afternoon were cut short in the final match against the Vanderbilt Commodores. Catone led the Terriers with a 169 game.
The tournament concludes on Sunday with a trio of best of seven Baker format matches to determine final finish positions.
