Terrier Bowlers Open NEC Play At 2-2

The Terriers will be back in action on Sunday when they face their remaining three NEC rivals.

NORTH BRUNSWICK, N.J. - The St. Francis Brooklyn women's bowling team split four best-of-seven Baker format matches on Saturday, the first day of Northeast Conference play.  This weekend, the conference's eight teams are playing a full round robin schedule at Bowlero North Brunswick.

Mount St. Mary's University 4, St. Francis Brooklyn 1
After dropping game one, the Terriers knotted the match by taking the second game by a 186-167 score.  The Mount answered with a 212-188 win in game three, and went on to take the next two games to win the match.

St. Francis 4.5, Wagner College 3.5
The Terriers and Seahawks bowled to a tie in the first game, and Wagner won game two.  St. Francis then captured three straight wins with scores of 186, 179, and 206 to take a 3.5-1.5 lead in the match, but Wagner won two consecutive games to knot the score.  This set the stage for a five-frame tiebreaker, where the Terriers prevailed by a 72-68 score to win the match.  Senior Kimmi D'Ottavio filled 12 of her 14 frames during the match.

Duquesne University 4.5, St. Francis 1.5
The Dukes raced to a 3-1 lead before another tied game (181-181) in game five kept the match going.  Duquesne then edged St. Francis, 195-191 in game six to close out the match.

St. Francis 4, Fairleigh Dickinson University 2
The final match on Saturday pitted the Terriers against the pre-season favorite FDU Knights.  A single-pin Terrier win in game one was answered by a one-pin verdict in favor of the Knights in game two.  St. Francis rolled to a 200-156 win in game three, only to see FDU take game four, 179-149.  St. Francis won game five, 191-190, and sealed the victory by a 170-167 score in game six. Mikayla Ferrara rolled a clean match, filling all 12 of her frames.
