D'Ottavio's Stellar 279 Highlights Terrier Bowling's Three-Win Day in Delaware

NEW CASTLE, DE - The St. Francis Brooklyn women's bowling team is wrapping up its season this weekend at the Northeast Roundup, hosted by Wilmington University and contested in New Castle, Delaware.  Today's competition featured five traditional team matches, and the Terriers posted a 3-2 record.  Junior Kimmi D'Ottavio registered the highest game of the day when she rolled a 279 against Caldwell University in the day's second match.
 
Monmouth University 1,052, St. Francis Brooklyn 874
The tournament began with the Terriers facing the Hawks of Monmouth, who averaged 210 up and down the lineup to come away with the victory.  D'Ottavio rolled a 196 to lead St. Francis and sophomore Heather Waters added a 193; both of them were clean games.
 
St. Francis Brooklyn 1,051, Caldwell University 924
D'Ottavio was the main factor in the win over the Cougars, starting with a pair of spares and following that up with 10 strikes in a row, finishing at 279.  Classmate Victoria Doto helped the Terrier cause with a 256 game of her own, started with eight consecutive strikes.

For the third straight game, D'Ottavio led the Terriers with a 216 game, while sophomore Taylor Waglione also cracked the 200 mark with a 208, as St. Francis pulled out a narrow victory over the tournament hosts.  D'Ottavio entered the final frame of the match on a string of four consecutive strikes, and closed out the affair with a 9-spare-strike.

Doto's 221 game paced St. Francis to their third consecutive victory, while Waglione added a 198 and D'Ottavio contributed with a 189.
 
Fairleigh Dickinson University 1,202, St. Francis Brooklyn 996
The day concluded with a loss for the Terriers against the Knights of Fairleigh Dickinson, whose score above 1,200 was too much to overcome.  Waters led St. Francis with a clean 248 game, Waglione added a clean 205, and D'Ottavio closed out her stellar day with a 196.
 
UP NEXT: 
Sunday's action will consist of two five-game total Baker pinfall matches, and the Terriers will face Chestnut Hill College and Mercyhurst University, and one best-of-seven Baker match in a position round which will determine the final rankings.
