LIMERICK, PA - Following the Christmas break which saw the team idle since the first weekend of December, the St. Francis Brooklyn women's bowling team returned to action on Friday at the annual Kutztown University Golden Bear Invitational, contested at Limerick Lanes in Limerick, Pennsylvania. The first day of the three-day event featured five-game Baker format matches, and the Terriers came away with a pair of victories.
Tulane University 943, St. Francis Brooklyn 914
A slow start against the Green Wave put the Terriers in a 53-pin hole after the first of five games. The Terriers bounced back, rolling a clean 193 in game two and then outscoring Tulane in the final three games, but the deficit was too much to overcome as the Terriers dropped a 29-pin decision.
St. Francis 933, University of Wisconsin-Whitewater 896
Once again, the Terriers outscored their opponents, the Warhawks of Wisconsin-Whitewater, in three of the five Baker games. St. Francis brought a 15 pin lead into the final two games of the match, and closed out the affair with strong scores of 208 and 207, giving them the victory by 37 pins.
Maryville University 1,013, St. Francis 950
While the Terriers rolled a strong match in the middle contest of the day, averaging 190 with scores of 232 and 202 in the third and fourth games, Maryville countered by eclipsing the 200 mark in the final three games of the match to come away with a hard-fought victory over St. Francis.

The Terriers had an off match in the penultimate contest of the day, and it came against a regular NCAA tournament participant who posted four scores above the 200 mark. In the end, the Ladyjacks were too much for the Terriers.

St. Francis closed out the day's events with an easy win over the Pioneers of LIU-Post. A 66-pin lead after two games swelled with back to back scores of 245 and 258 (both clean games) to put the match well out of reach. Freshman
