Box Score STATEN ISLAND, NY – The St. Francis Terriers lost to the Wagner Seahawks, 50-47, in Staten Island on Saturday, dropping their Northeast Conference record to 4-6 on the season.
The Game:
A back and forth affair resulted in a narrow 7-6 Terrier lead with 3:27, however, the Seahawks pieced together a 10-2 run down the stretch, carrying a 16-9 lead into the second period.
With the Terriers committing 11 first half turnovers, the Seahawks looked poised to pull away while up 21-13 midway through the second, but the Terriers answered with seven unanswered, shrinking the Wagner lead to 21-20 with over one minute remaining.
At halftime, Wagner led 23-22.
In the third quarter, no team led by more than three points, and the Terriers only had the upper-hand after scoring the first basket coming back from halftime. The Seahawks were up 39-36, a lead which quickly disappeared with the Terriers taking a lead early in the fourth quarter.
With the Terriers missing an opportunity to score under one minute to go, Wagner called timeout. On the next possession, the Seahawks found Morgan Lenahan, who hit a three with 23.6 seconds left. The shot ultimately served as the game-winning bucket.
The Terriers:
Jade Johnson scored a team-high 11 points while also recording 9 rebounds and a pair of steals.
Maria Palarino added 9 points, and
Amy O'Neill finished with 1 point, a game-high 10 rebounds, a team-best 5 assists, and 2 steals.
Wagner:
Sierra Clark paced the Seahawks with 12 points and 10 rebounds, matching O'Neill's game-high. Taylah Simmons added 11 points and 5 rebounds.

The Terriers will travel to Emmitsburg, Maryland, where they'll take on Mount St. Mary's on Monday.
