Terriers Travel to FDU in Battle of Northeast Conference Leaders

The women's basktetball team looks to draw within a game of FDU on Thursday night.

BROOKLYN HEIGHTS, N.Y. - The St. Francis Brooklyn women's basketball team (11-7, 7-3 NEC) head to Teaneck, N.J. on Thursday night to play FDU (12-8, 9-1 NEC) in a battle of first versus second.

The Terriers come into the game with seven wins in their last eight games after defeating Wagner on Sunday afternoon. The Knights, meanwhile, bring a six game winning streak into Thursday's contest. For the Terriers, it's a chance to draw within a game of the conference leaders as they vie for home court advantage in the NEC tournament.

LAST TIME OUT

St. Francis Brooklyn 80 | Wagner 69 - The Terriers won their third game in a row and swept the season series against Wagner, defeating the Seahawks for their sixth win in seven. It was one of the best offensive performances of the season for head coach Linda Cimino's team, with four Terrier players finishing the game with double digit scoring, and the team visiting the free throw line for a season's best 31 attempts.

Nevena Dimitrijevic, who scored a season high 24 points in the win, was named NEC Prime Performer for the fifth time this season and second week running, averaging 17.5 points and a 50% field goal percentage for week 12.

FDU 62 | CCSU 42 - The Knights come into Thursday's game on a six game winning streak after an away win over Central Conn. St. on Sunday. Although FDU trailed by one at the break, they turned the game around in the second half outscoring their opponents 36-15 to come away with a 20 point win.

Chloe Wilson set the pace for the Knights with 22 points, while Madison Stanley added 11 points and was named NEC player of the week, having scored 25 points in FDU's previous game against Mount St. Mary's.

The Terriers are looking to dish out some revenge on Thursday night, as FDU is the team's only loss since Jan. 21. Ally Lassen led the way for the Terriers that night with 20 points, a season high for her, on 7-13 shooting and nine visits to the foul line. FDU's Madison Stanley and Aniya Bell scored 25 and 20 points respectively.

Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at the Rothman Center in Hackensack, N.J. and the game can be streamed on NEC Front Row.
