LAS VEGAS, NV– The St. Francis College Brooklyn women's basketball team (4-6) fell to the Tigers of Pacific University (7-2) by a score of 71-62, on Thursday evening from the South Point Hotel and Casino Arena.
The Terriers began the contest in a 9-0 deficit that prompted a timeout by head coach
Linda Cimino just two minutes in. Following the needed break from St. Francis College, the timeout was the perfect spark for Lassen and Company.
Three and a half minutes into the Holiday Hoops Classic, the Terriers would get on the board with a step back shot from the free-throw line from senior guard
Jade Johnson. St. Francis College would slowly begin to mark their territory in Las Vegas, as they narrowed the lead to as much as three thanks to a
Cayln Richardson triple.
Coming off of first quarter comeback, the Terriers had it in them to narrow the lead even further. Junior forward
Ally Lassen closed the gap to just one with a lay-up in the right lane to shrink Pacific's lead 29-28. Following the media timeout, Pacific would earn a Blakeslee triple to re-extend the lead back to seven.
Out of the locker room, Australian guard
Jade Johnson put her team ahead with a pair of opening triples to give the team it's one lead of the game by a score of 38-37. The Terriers would give up the lead on a Higgins triple, and would never look back.
The fourth stanza began with another pair of triples from the aforementioned Johnson, with the caveat being a pair of free-throws made by Lassen to narrow the lead back to four with 7:15 on the clock. Pacific would win the battle in the paint 30-12 in large part from Higgins, who led the Tigers with 25 points on the night.
The California based team would win the battle of second chance points, by scoring 12 opposed to five. The Tigers earned 22 points off the bench. The Terriers did earn 20 fast-break points off a total of eight steals.
Senior guard
Jade Johnson broke a plethora of records, where she advanced past Jaymee Veney for sole possession of seventh place on the all-time scoring chart. Johnson now sits with 1,314 points. She would surpass Tiffany Hill for second all-time on the program's triple's completed list with 221. Johnson would tally five in the contest out of 10 attempted. Finally, the Australian native passed Rosie Downing and Mary Kawas Rotolo for sole possession of eighth place on the field-goal's made chart with 437.

- Senior guard Jade Johnson tallied 23 points on the scoreboard, grabbing one rebound, assisting on one, and stealing a pair in 39 minutes on the hardwood.
- Freshman guard Nevena Dimitrijevic assisted on nine baskets, grabbed a pair of rebounds, and tallied four points in 34 minutes.
- Junior forward Ally Lassen recorded 21 points, grabbed seven rebounds, and stole a pair. The Point Pleasant native converted 11-of-14 from the charity stripe in 31 minutes of game-action.
- Freshman guard Alyssa Fisher registered a pair of three-pointers in five total attempts. Fisher would grab a pair of rebounds, and stole one in 30 minutes of game-time.
- Freshman forward Jenna Jordan grabbed six rebounds, and tallied five points from the free-throw line. The Valley Cottage, NY native recorded 27 minutes on the hardwood.
