BROOKLYN, NY – St. Francis Brooklyn women's basketball returns to the ARC for Northeast Conference play against Central Connecticut State Friday evening. Coming off a win over Merrimack earlier in the week, the Terriers look to start 2-0 in the NEC before hitting the road to play Sacred Heart next weekend. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.

The Terriers put together a complete performance Monday, vaulting ahead for good after trailing 3-0 early. Sheridan Kavanagh led the team in scoring in her first start, totaling 18 points on just nine field goal attempts. Tyra Myers (13 points) and Alyssa Fisher (12 points) also scored in double figures.

Merrimack made a comeback bid, but a made lay-in by Eszter Varga made it a two-possession game with under a minute left. St. Francis Brooklyn was selective from long distance and it paid off. They made eight of 15 attempts.

Sophomore center Sarah Bandoma was close to a double-double, totaling eight points and nine rebounds. Zharia Hutchinson added seven points off the bench.

The Terriers were able to get to the line more than their opponent, taking 19 free throws compared to just six for the visitors.

The Blue Devils are coming off a narrow loss to Stonehill on Monday. Trailing for most of the game, they were able to cut the deficit to six points on multiple occasions, but that was as close as they would get.

Dejah Jenkins, the team's leading scorer, totaled 18 points to lead the offensive output. Teammates Lara Rohkohl (13 points, eight boards) and Belle Lanpher (12 points, four assists) joined her in double figures.

Rohkohl has come on strong of late. A 6-2 center, she leads the team in rebounding and is averaging 6.7 per contest.

The Blue Devils have wins over Hartford, Bryant and Saint Peter's in 2022-23. They were picked to finish eighth in the NEC Preseason Poll.
