BROOKLYN HEIGHTS, NY – St. Francis Brooklyn women's basketball hits the road for a non-conference matchup with Youngstown State Saturday evening. The Terriers are now in the middle of a five-game road game stretch, and will conclude it against Monmouth, Quinnipiac and Penn over the next 10 days.

- The Terriers are coming off a 72-61 loss to Boston University on Wednesday afternoon. Despite falling behind 18-5 in the early going, they were able to hang around, outscoring the Patriot League preseason favorites the rest of the way.
- Despite never taking a lead, the team got to within two points of equalizing the score early in the second half after a made three-pointer by Tyra Myers.
- Alyssa Fisher continues to lead the way offensively after adding a second straight 19-point performance. She now averages 17.2 points per game, good enough for tops in the Northeast Conference.
- Ella Ogier was the only other Terrier to score in double figures (10 points). Angena Belloso, Sarah Bandoma (nine points apiece) and Sheriden Kavanagh (seven points and seven rebounds) all turned in strong performances.
- Kavanagh has seen an increased roll over the past two contests, as she has averaged 24.5 minutes per game over that span, and averaged 9.5 points per game along with 6.5 rebounds per game.
Scouting Youngstown State
- The Penguins enter play at 1-3, and have lost three straight contests following a season-opening win over Wofford on November 7.
- The are led by fifth-year forward Lilly Ritz, who is averaging 19.5 points per game along with 13 rebounds per game. Against Wofford, she had a whopping 27 points and 20 rebounds, making 11 free throws.
- Senior forward Paige Shy adds another weapon in the frontcourt for Youngstown State. She averages 10.5 points per game and stretches the floor as she is shooting at a 36% clip from three-point land.
- The Penguins are coming off a successful 2021-22 campaign that saw them win the Horizon League regular season title. Despite falling in the conference tournament, they qualified for the WNIT.
- Head coach John Barnes is in his 10th season at the helm for Youngstown State. He was named Horizon League Coach of the Year in 2021-22.
Series History
- Saturday's matchup will be the first between the two sides. Head coach Linda Cimino has a win over Youngstown State from her time at Binghamton. The Bearcats defeated the Penguins 70-59 in the first round of the WBI.
