Nevena Dimitrijevic Selected to All-Met Basketball Writers Association Third Team

WHITE PLAINS, NY – Freshman guard Nevena Dimitrijevic was selected to the All-Met Basketball Writers Association's Third Team on Monday morning, following a tremendous rookie campaign. She joins her predecessor in Amy O'Neill to be the lone pair of Terriers in program history, to be recognized by the storied organization.
 
"We are incredibly proud of Nevena for being selected to the All-Met Third Team. This latest honor is just another testament to all the hard work that she put in on and off the court throughout her freshman year in Brooklyn Heights. The Met Basketball Writers Association is a prestigious organization, and we appreciate the fact that Nevena has been recognized as one of the top players in the Metropolitan area after completing one of the best rookie seasons in program history. We are extremely excited to see what the future holds for her and wish her continued success," said women's basketball Head Coach Linda Cimino.
 
The Kragujevic, Serbia native was tabbed the NEC Rookie of the Year, selected to the All-NEC Second Team, named ECAC Rookie of the Year, and was selected to the All-Rookie Team after a stellar first year on Remsen Street. Dimitrijevic also became the first Terrier to tally seven NEC Rookie of the Week honors.
 
Within the New York-Metropolitan area, Dimitrijevic finished with 6.2 assists per game. The average was one behind Marist's Grace Vander Weide, who averaged 6.3 per game. Behind Dimitrijevic was St. Johns' Tiana England, who would average 5.2 per game.
 
She was one of 30 student-athletes during the 2019-20 campaign in the NEC to post a double-double, and one of four Terriers to do so. Dimitrijevic also joined a list of six to tally 30-plus points on the season. She would accomplish the feat on February 10, against Bryant in Smithfield where she dropped a career-high 31 points.
 
She finished second on the team in points per game with 14.2. She ranked sixth within the NEC in scoring, eighth in field-goal percentage (37.4%), seventh in steals per game (1.79), second in assist/turnover ratio (1.74). Most notably, Dimitrijevic led the conference with 174 total assists and averaged 6.2 per game.
