BROOKLYN, NY – Freshman guard Tyra Myers of the St. Francis Brooklyn women's basketball team has been named a Northeast Conference Prime Performer following her strong performance against Saint Francis (PA), as announced by the conference office Monday afternoon. Myers has now been honored seven times by the NEC this season.
The Terriers played just one time this week, but Myers made her presence known on the road against Saint Francis (PA). The Columbia, South Carolina native scored 22 points on 6-of-12 shooting, making 8-of-9 free throws. She added three rebounds, two assists and two steals.
Myers continues to improve her offensive numbers as the season rolls on. She is averaging 19.3 points per game over her last six games including four performances with 20 or more points. Also, Myers leads the league in three-point shooting (40.9%).
The Terriers resume action this week against Sacred Heart on Thursday. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
