Tyra Myers has been named Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week for the third time this season, as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon. In a game against Sacred Heart that featured plenty of defense, Myers shined in a 58-55 victory.
Helping guide the Terriers to their ninth conference win, Myers scored 17 points and added five rebounds. On two occasions, she hit buzzer-beating shots to close out quarters. The Columbia, South Carolina native added five rebounds and shot 6-of-7 from the free throw line.
Having added a new gear to game during conference play, Myers is averaging 14.4 in NEC contests and is shooting 52.1% from the field over her last four games.
Myers and the rest of the Terriers will close out the regular season on the road Thursday. They will take on Merrimack in a battle for third place in the conference. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
