Lassen, Dimitrijevic, and Fisher Named Captains for 2020-21 Season

BROOKLYN HEIGHTS, NY – St. Francis College Brooklyn head coach Linda Cimino has named sophomore guards Nevena Dimitrijevic and Alyssa Fisher, as well as senior forward Ally Lassen, as captains for the 2020-21 campaign on Monday afternoon.

"I'm excited to name Ally [Lassen], Alyssa [Fisher], and Nevena [Dimitrijevic] as our captains for this season." Said Cimino, who enters her third season as the Terriers head coach. "These young women are respected by their teammates and coaches. They're committed to holding themselves to a higher standard."

The trio are the top-three returnees in the scoring category. Lassen led the way a season ago, with 14.4 ppg, which earned her a spot on the All-NEC Third Team. Dimitrijevic tallied 14.2 ppg, which landed her a spot on the All-NEC Second Team. She was also recognized with a plethora of additional awards, that included ECAC Rookie of the Year, NEC Rookie of the Year, and Third Team All-Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association. The Serbian native was also selected to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame's Nancy Lieberman Award Watch List.

Rounded out by Fisher, who tallied double-digit points in nine conference matchups last season, averaged 7.4 ppg. She also shot 32.2 percent from the field, 31.6 percent from three, and 80.6 percent from the free-throw line…Scored in double figures 11 times and recorded a season-high 17 points on 6-of-13 shooting from the field vs. Bryant…Scored 15 points on 5-of-9 shooting from the field and went 4-of-4 from the free-throw line in 34 minutes against vs. Mount St. Mary's (MD) during the 2019-20 campaign.

"Being a team captain comes with great responsibility." Explained Cimino. "You lead by example on and off the floor every day and hold yourself and teammates accountable in representing the standards we expect when you wear St. Francis across your chest."

Last season, then-junior forward Ally Lassen was one of three captains for head coach Linda Cimino.

"They are each great leader's in their own, authentic way, and I'm confident that our program is in good hands." Concluded Cimino.

St. Francis College Brooklyn opens its season on the road at Bryant inside the Chace Athletic Center tomorrow evening, December 8. Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m.
