BROOKLYN HEIGHTS, N.Y. - The Northeast Conference recognized Khaleah Edwards on Wednesday as a Prime Performer for her strong showings in wins against Wagner and LIU, her first time receiving the honor this season.
Edwards was vital in both wins for the Terriers. She was their second leading scorer in the Saturday win at home over Wagner, where she scored 12 points and secured four rebounds on 5-11 shooting from the field.
And her performance on Monday was even more impressive. Her 17 points were both a team high and personal best for the season, as she shot 5-7 from the field, 3-4 from three point range, and hauled in 8 rebounds in the 59-53 win over LIU.
Her hot shooting played a big hand in the Terriers' fourth quarter turnaround against the Sharks, as she gave the Terriers' their first lead since the first quarter with 4:45 to play, and then drained a clutch three pointer on the following possession to open up a five point advantage.
All in all, Edwards averaged 14.5 points and 6 rebounds for the week, and shot 75% from three in the win at LIU.
Khaleah Edwards and the rest of the Terriers return to the floor on Friday when they host FDU at 6:00 p.m. at the Daniel Lynch Gymnasium.
