Women's Basketball Heads to Fairfield Looking to Take Two Against Sacred Heart

The Terriers bring good form into Saturday's contest.

BROOKLYN HEIGHTS, N.Y. - The St. Francis Brooklyn women's basketball team (11-8, 7-4 NEC) head to Fairfield, Conn. on Saturday afternoon to play Sacred Heart (5-9, 4-5 NEC) as they look to take the season series against the Pioneers.

The Terriers come into the game in second place in Northeast Conference; having won seven of their last nine games despite a close four point loss last time out against FDU. The Pioneers, meanwhile, come into the game winless in their last four outings.

LAST TIME OUT

Fairleigh Dickinson 55 | St. Francis Brooklyn 51 - The Terriers dropped a stingy affair against the conference leaders that was decided by the smallest of margins. Although they led by as many as 11 points in the 2nd quarter, the Knights made it a one point game going into the break, and then came up with the big plays in the late stages of the game to grab the victory. One area that the Pioneers can look to improve is their rebounding, where they lost the battle 41-27.

Three Terriers finished the night in double digits, with Nevena Dimitrijevic, Ally Lassen and Isabella Posset all on 11 points. Dimitrijevic was just two assists shy of a double double.

LIU 50 | SHU 46 - Sacred Heart dropped their fourth game in a row on Thursday night. Although they trailed by 13 points in the opening stages of the third quarter, the Pioneers rallied to make it a close game coming down the stretch. Despite Adrianne Hagood's team high 13 points, she missed two vital free throws to tie the game with seconds to play, and the Sharks held on for the win.

SFBK took the last meeting between the programs, a 63-37 win at home. Although the game was tied at the half, the Terriers dominated the third quarter, outscoring their opponents 18-3. The lead only grew larger as the game wore on, and the Terriers came away with their widest margin of victory since mid December.

Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at the William H Pitt Center in Fairfield, C.T. and the game can be streamed on NEC Front Row.
