BROOKLYN, NY – The backcourt duo of Alyssa Fisher and Tyra Myers were named Northeast Conference Prime Performers this week, as announced by the conference office Monday afternoon. The two Terriers guards led the offense in victories over Central Connecticut State and Stonehill, vaulting the team into third place in the NEC.
Fisher had a team-high 25 points against Central Connecticut State, scoring 15 in a pivotal third quarter. She was dependable down the stretch, hitting 10 of 10 free throws for the contest. The senior added 12 points in a 61-48 win over Stonehill. It is the seventh time she has been recognized by the conference in the weekly awards.
Myers continued her recent surge, scoring 13 points against the Blue Devils and adding a game-high 21 points against the Skyhawks. In a defensive battle, Myers proved to be the difference against Stonehill. The freshman scored eight of the team's 12 points in the third quarter and capitalized on several isolation plays over the course of a critical 14-3 run to start the fourth quarter. She now averages 10.1 points per game.
Fisher, Myers and the rest of the Terriers will hit the road for a matchup with Wagner on Thursday. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
