Last Timeout:
Four St. Francis Brooklyn Terriers reached double figures as the squad defeated the Wagner Seahawks, 80-76, at home on Martin Luther King Day. The win improved the Terrier record to (6-10, 2-3 NEC), and gave the team their first back-to-back wins since February 2016.
Jade Johnson led the way with 21 points, recording back-to-back 20-point games, the first time a Terrier has done so since
Leah Fechko in February 2016. Johnson's 21 points were spearheaded by a 6-of-12 showing from the field, including two makes from deep, and a 7-of-8 display from the foul line. Johnson also grabbed five rebounds, tying for the team-high mark.
Alex Delaney followed up her 30-point explosion on Saturday with 16 points against Wagner, which was accompanied by four boards and two steals. Delaney shot 6-of-10 from the field and 3-of-5 from three. Her performance from downtown brings her to sixth all-time in SFBKWBB history with 141 made three-pointers, leaving her six threes behind Margaret Murphy, who is fifth.
Maria Palarino netted 14 points, 11 of which came in the second half, and dished out a team-best four assists. Palarino tied Johnson for five rebounds and shot 6-of-9 from the floor while also draining both of her free throw attempts.
Freshman
Abby Anderson scored a career-best 10 points, breaking double-figures for the first time in her Terrier tenure. Anderson shot 3-of-5 and hit 4-of-5 from the foul line.
Samantha Keltos added nine points on 3-of-5 shooting and shot 2-of-2 on free throws.
Amy O'Neill ran the show once again, recording eight points, seven assists, four steals and four rebounds from the point guard position.
