BROOKLYN, NY - St. Francis Brooklyn men's tennis has two players recognized by the Northeast Conference following a 4-3 victory over FDU on Sunday evening. Sophomore
Habib Stambouli was named NEC Player of the Week after defeating the reigning Player of the Year and
Assil Boussayri added a three-set victory and was named a Primer Performer.
Stambouli won his matchup in straight sets, taking down Mehdi Dhouib 7-5, 6-3. It is his third straight singles win. He was one of four singles winners, helping the team rally after dropping the opening doubles point.
Boussayri was named a Prime Performer for the second straight week. Despite dropping the second set against Teodors Pukse, he managed to put his matchup away with a dominant 6-3 decision in the third set.
The duo guided the Terriers to their third straight Northeast Conference victory. The team will play four matches this weekend, beginning with St. Thomas Aquinas on Saturday.
