Men’s Water Polo Sweeps NWPC Weekly Awards

BRIDGEPORT, PA – St. Francis College Brooklyn men's water polo student-athletes Vladimir Mickic and Viktor Klauzer took home NWPC weekly honors as announced by the conference on Tuesday afternoon. Mickic was named the Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week, while Klauzer was tabbed the Defensive Player of the Week.
 
Mickic had a strong weekend tallying 10 goals and 11 drawn exclusions as the Terriers went 2-2 at the Tiger Invitational. On Friday night, the freshman scored a goal and drew a pair of exclusions in a win over Wagner.
 
The final two games of the tournament were his best, as he registered four goals and drew three exclusions in a win over George Washington and then followed that performance up with five goals and three drawn exclusions against Fordham.
 
Klauzer went 1-1 in net for the Terriers, which included a win over George Washington. Over two matches he recorded 14 saves (nine vs. George Washington & four vs. UC San Diego).
 
St. Francis jumps back in the pool this weekend as it travels to Lewisburg, PA to compete in the Bison Invitational. The Terriers are slated to play three matches, the first comes on Saturday, September 21, against George Washington at 10:30 a.m., followed by a meeting with Johns Hopkins at 3:30 p.m. The Terriers conclude play on Sunday, September 22, as they take on Washington & Jefferson at 11:45 a.m.
