BRIDGEPORT, Penn. - For the second consecutive season, the St. Francis Brooklyn men's water polo team has had one of its top performers named to an All-American list.
Senior Aleksa Sisakovic was named to the All-American Honorable Mention list by the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) on Monday afternoon; his second year in a row receiving the honor.
"We are incredibly proud of the hard work that Aleksa put in this season to be recognized as an All-American," said head coach Ilija Duretic. "He gave 100% effort all year to help St. Francis return to the conference championship and he was a major part of our success."
Sisakovic was one of the Terriers leading scorers for the second season in a row and led the Terriers in drawn exclusions by a double-digit margin.
His recognition by the ACWPC caps off an award-winning senior season; being named to the Northeast Water Polo Conference (NWPC) All-Conference Second Team and All-Tournament First Team. His play helped St. Francis reach its second consecutive NPWC Tournament final during the 2022 season.
"Aleksa being named an All-American two years in a row is a tremendous accomplishment and we are so proud of his commitment to play at a high level," said Irma Garcia, Director of Athletics. "His recognition is a testament to his personal growth and the sustained growth of the water polo program under Coach Duretic."
