BROOKLYN HEIGHTS, NY – The St. Francis Brooklyn men's water polo team (6-12, 5-1 NEWPC) earned another conference victory by beating Iona on Wednesday. The Terriers overwhelmed the Gaels, 18-11. The 18 goals marked a season-high for the Terriers as their offensive attack was clicking on all cylinders.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
St. Francis Brooklyn – 18 | Iona Gaels – 11
- The Terriers came out strong, gaining a five-goal advantage right from the get-go. The star of the show was Terriers' senior Will Lapkin, who scored five goals throughout the game.
- Botond Kadar added two tallies before being rolled out, along with Bogdan Kostic and Cody-Alexander Jones, the two of them registering a goal each, before earning three ejections and leaving the game early.
- Matheus Santos and Boris Posavec added two additional tallies, with the Freshman Valentin Horvath scoring his first two goals of the season.
- Jonas Veazey, Nikita Prokhin, Djorde Stanic, and Tadeu Rodrigues scored en route to the Terriers fifth conference win of the season.
