Track and Field Standout Aiken Qualifies for NCAA Regionals

BROOKLYN, N.Y. - Sophomore jumper Malachi Aiken has etched his name in the St. Francis Brooklyn track and field record books. 

The Brooklyn native is one of a handful of Terrier athletes to qualify for the NCAA Division I Track and Field Championships; joining his head coach, Chris Mills '98.

Inking himself as one of the top jumpers on the East Coast, Aiken qualified to compete at the NCAA East Regional First Round; taking place May 24-27 at the Visit Jax Track at Hodges Stadium on the campus of the University of North Florida in Jacksonville. 

"I could not be more proud of Malachi for joining a very exclusive club of Terriers to qualify for the NCAA Championships," said Mills. "In just two years, Aiken has managed to cement himself as one of the top jumpers in his class and one of the top jumpers in St. Francis history. I look forward to supporting him through this incredible moment in his young career."

Aiken will start his week in Jacksonville on Wednesday, May 24 in the Long Jump preliminary round at 6:00 p.m. The preliminary round for the Triple Jump will start on Friday, May 26 at 6:00 p.m. 

Wednesday and Friday coverage will air live on ESPN+ and live results will be available throughout the week.
