STATEN ISLAND, NY – The St. Francis Brooklyn men's and women's track & field teams began the 2019 outdoor season on Saturday as it competed in the Wagner College Invitational at Hameline Field in Staten Island, NY.
WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS:
- After being named to the NEC Indoor Track & Field All-Rookie Team earlier this week, Janaya Lewis notched an eighth-place finish in the 400-meter final. The freshman crossed the finish line in 1:10.39. Perla Rodriguez finished just behind Lewis in the 400-meters as she notched a time of 1:13.07 to place 10th.
- Brianna Browne came in sixth-place for the Terriers in the 800-meter final with a time of 2:40.04.
- Leah Rivers earned a sixth-place finish of her own in the 1500-meter finals. Rivers posted a time of 5:20.82.
- Princess Missigher and Brittany Mariano placed third and fourth respectively in the 400-meter hurdles. Missigher posted a time of 1:20.99, while Mariano registered a time of 1:21.42.
- Alyssa Internicola came in eighth-place in the shot put as she tallied a mark of 7.77m.
MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS:
- Jordan Moorer registered the lone first-place finish for the Terriers as he won the long jump with a mark of 6.61m.
- Terell Howard recorded a fourth-place finish in the 400-meter final as he clocked a time of 52.60. Michael Baker also registered a top 10 finish in the 400 final as he posted a time of 53.97, which was good for ninth-place.
- Jared Thomas came in ninth-place in the 800-meter final. Thomas ran the 800 final in 2:11.82.
- Fergus MacDonnell earned a sixth-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles. He posted a final time of 1:05.47.
- Patrick Heaney and Damilare Oyetibo placed fourth and fifth respectively in the shot put final. Heaney notched a mark of 11.81m, while Oyetibo recorded a mark of 11.31m.
- Brendan Heaney finished ninth in the discus final with a mark of 25.59m.
