STOCKTON, N.J. - The St. Francis Brooklyn men's track and field team opened the 2022 outdoor schedule on Saturday taking part in the Stockton Invite, hosted by Stockton University, along with 6 other teams.
The Terriers were led by their throwers and jumpers in the first meet of the spring.
Damilare Oyetibo secured the highest individual finish for St. Francis on Saturday, taking second place in the discus finals with a 42.06m throw. Oyetibo also took sixth in the shotput finals with a 13.57m mark.
Troy Thomas kicked off his first outdoor season with the Terriers strong, taking third in the triple jump finals (12.28m).
St. Francis's 4x400m team (Terell Howard, Parker Myers, Arthur Gooden Jr., Malachi Aiken) did not miss a beat from its success during the indoor slate. The Terriers top team took first in the finals (3:29.03), with their second team (Nicholas Mejia, Kayshaw Saravia, Jordan Moorer, Xavier Wright) taking fifth (3:40.09).
Wright scored a pair of individual top-ten finishes as well, taking eighth in the 200m final (23.68) and ninth in the 100m final (11.88).
The Terriers finished 5-6 in the 800m final thanks to efforts from Myers (2:05.85) and Gooden Jr. (2:06.44), respectively.
