NORTH ANDOVER, MA – St. Francis Brooklyn men's and women's track and field competed at the first day of the Northeast Conference Championships on Saturday, turning in several strong results including a third-place finish in the men's long jump and a number of finals appearances for Sunday's competition.
Preliminary Races

Two Terriers qualified for the men's 100-meter finals as Renaldo Alleyne-Noreiga and Shevon Walker took fourth and seventh respectively. Alleyne-Noreiga's time of 10.60 is just .13 seconds shy of the leading mark. Walker posted his finish in 10.75 seconds.

Makhi Theosmy breezed his way through the 400 prelims, taking fourth place en route to the finals on Sunday (49.89). Merrimack's Cory Couture paced the field by nearly half of a second.

Christina Rene took fifth in the women's 400, finishing in 57.71 seconds. She is less than a second from the top overall time. Central Connecticut State and Wagner each have two runners in the 400 final.

Freshman Kimora Chance made her way to the 100-meter final, taking sixth (12.44). She edged three runners by a combined .14 seconds and was .09 seconds from grabbing fifth. Shantelle Riley of FDU was the only NEC athlete to break the 12-second mark.

Janee' Patterson coasted to the finals in the 400-meter hurdles with a fourth-place finish with a time of 1:04.52. Parker Myers matched Patterson's finish on the men's side. His time of 55.95 carries him into Sunday's final.
Finals

Malachi Aiken continued his strong form, taking the bronze in the long jump. His fifth attempt reached the 7.23-meters mark as he only finished behind a member of FDU and Wagner. The mark was .28 meters off from his season best.

Armani Dunkley took eighth in the long jump with a leap of 5.38 meters. Saint Francis (PA) junior Madeline Murphy won the event (5.99 meters).
