Box Score 2 BROOKLYN, NY – St. Francis Brooklyn men's tennis hit the court for two non-conference matches this weekend, battling two solid squads in Brown and Hofstra. The Terriers pushed across two points against both sides but fell 4-2 to Brown and 5-2 to Hofstra.
In Saturday's matchup with the Bears, the Terriers dropped the doubles point but rallied to get two singles wins. Jan Godfrey Seno won his #2 singles battle handily, taking it 6-3, 6-3. Luis Foix Sotos also took his matchup in straight sets by a score of 6-3, 7-6.
The Terriers fell in three singles matches and it concluded with a score of 4-2, despite Javier Servera Latorre leading by one set in a battle that remained unfinished.
Against Hofstra, St. Francis Brooklyn managed to take one doubles match but dropped two to fall behind 1-0. Assil Boussayri and Habib Stambouli defeated their #1 doubles opponents 6-3 before #2 and #3 doubles each dropped their matches by the same score.
In singles, the Terriers took #5 and #6 singles in three sets. Luis Foix Sotos and Latorre picked up with the wins and Latorre won two straight sets to pick up the victory.
Freshman Leon Harder battled, falling in three sets. Seno fell in two sets as both were dropped in a tiebreaker.
The Terriers return to action on Saturday, March 18 against Stonehill. It is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.
