BROOKLYN, NY – St. Francis Brooklyn men's tennis hit the court for a pair of weekend matches, falling to Queens College by a score of 5-2 on Saturday and dropping a 7-0 decision to NJIT on Sunday. Jan Godfrey Seno and Assil Boussayri each recorded singles wins for the Terriers to highlight their effort against Queens College.
Against the Knights, the Terriers dropped the doubles point despite a win for Seno and Luis Foix Sotos. The duo defeated Rashad Kareem and Lluis Miralles Miro 6-4. The Terriers went on to fall in No. 3 doubles and nearly pulled out a tiebreak in No. 2 doubles but dropped the all-important matchup to go behind 1-0.
Seno and Boussayri won their matchups in two sets, with Boussayri grabbing a tiebreak victory in the first set to gain momentum. He went on to take the final set 6-4. Seno went up a break in each set, taking his matchup 6-4, 7-5. Despite the two victories, the Terriers fell in No. 3-6 singles to drop the match 5-2.
On Sunday, they took on a strong Highlander squad who took the match 7-0. Two battles went the distance as Luis Foix Sotos fell in three sets in his singles matchup and the duo of Lucas Foix Sotos and Matheus Paiva went to a tiebreak in their doubles matchup before falling.
The Terriers will return to action on Saturday, March 4 at Brown.
