PISCATAWAY, NJ – The St. Francis Brooklyn men's swimming team wrapped up the second day of competition at the Metropolitan Championship in seventh-place with 281 points. The Terriers jumped two spots in the standings as they recorded nearly 200 points as a team on day two of the Championship meet.
DAY ONE HIGHLIGHTS:
- The Terriers' 200 free relay team of Alfred Christensson, Marko Danev, Micah Wesselhoff, and Andrew Gubarev got the squad off to a quick start as they placed fifth with a time of 1:25.91. The top five finish earned the Terriers 50 points to kick-off finals.
- Jonas Veazey finished ninth in the 500 free and placed first in the B-final as he touched the wall in 4:41.83.
- Binald Mahmuti earned a 14th-place finish in the 200 IM final with a time of 1:57.82.
DAY TWO HIGHLIGHTS:
- St. Francis Brooklyn began the second day of the championship with a bang as the 200 medley relay team of Alfred Christensson, Meriton Veliu, Andrew Gubarev, and Micah Wesselhoff came in fourth-place and set a new school record with a time of 1:33.74.
- The Terriers had a pair of student-athletes finish within the top five of the 100 fly finals. Gubarev took fourth-place with a time of 50.74, while Christensson came in fifth-place with a time of 50.82.
- Jonas Veazey recorded a 13th-place finish in the B-finals of the 200 free. The senior touched the wall with a time of 1:46.85.
- To finish the night, the Terriers' 800 free relay team of Veazey, Gubarev, Marko Danev, and Ricardo Berenguer notched a time of 7:09.16 which was good for sixth-place in the event.

The Terriers resume action in the Metropolitan Championship on Sunday, February 24, with prelims beginning at 9:30 a.m. Final events are set to start at 5:30 p.m.
