BROOKLYN HEIGHTS, NY – The St. Francis College Brooklyn men's soccer team (5-1-1, 5-1-1 NEC) played LIU (3-1-3, 3-1-3 NEC) to a scoreless draw on Monday afternoon at Brooklyn Bridge Park – Pier 5. The Terriers picked up their third clean sheet of the season and earned their first tie of the 2021 Spring campaign.

David Santiago stood strong as they teamed up to hold LIU scoreless through 110 minutes of the double overtime contest. Santiago picked up his first career clean sheet for the Terriers as he made four saves in his first career start.
HOW IT HAPPENED:

- Santiago appeared in his first game as a Terrier and earned the start in goal. He picked up his first career clean sheet as he made four saves. He faced a total of 10 shots over the course of 110 minutes.
- Junior forward El Mahdi Youssoufi attempted two shots, both of which were on goal. Youssoufi had the Terriers' best scoring chance, which came in the 74th minute. Youssoufi was awarded a penalty kick, but was turned away by LIU's goalkeeper Demetri Skoumbaki, who made a diving save to keep the game scoreless.
- Junior forward Khaled Abdella took two shots and both were saved by Skoumbaki. Abdella came off the bench and logged 43 minutes.
- Junior defender Vicente Gallardo took a pair of shots as he played the full game on the backline.
- Junior midfielder Sokol Ymeraj, sophomore defender Mamadou Diallo, and junior midfielder Jaydon Humpries each took one shot apiece for the Terriers.
- LIU took 10 shots with four on target, while St. Francis attempted nine shots with four on goal.
- St. Francis attempted six corners, while LIU took two corners.

The No. 1 overall seed St. Francis is set to host the No. 2 seed LIU in the 2021 NEC Men's Soccer Championship game on Friday, April 16, at 1 p.m., at Brooklyn Bridge Park – Pier 5. The 2020-21 NEC Championship game marks the Terriers' fifth Championship game appearance over the past eight seasons.
