St. Francis Brooklyn men's soccer alum Vincent Bezecourt earned the opening night start in the New York Red Bulls (Major League Soccer) 4-0 victory over Portland on Saturday evening. The Aire-sur-I'Adour, France native played all 90 minutes and assisted on two goals in his second career start.
Bezecourt led the Terriers to the 2014 Northeast Conference Championship and a #22 national ranking.In 2015, he paced the Red & Blue with seven goals, which was good for fourth in the Northeast Conference.After the season, the National Soccer Coaches Association of America announced that Bezecourt's efforts earned him Third Team All-American honors. Bezecourt was also named to the All-Northeast Regional First-Team.
In his junior season in 2014, he tallied three goals, which was tied for second most on the team. He registered six assists to lead the team and was second best in the conference. The midfielder recorded 12 points, second most on the team and tied for eighth in the NEC.Bezecourt notched two game-winning goals against Howard and Bryant in his junior campaign. He was selected to the 2014 National Soccer Coaches Association of America's All-Northeast Region Team and named to the All-Second Team in the Northeast Conference.
